Darcy Appeal

*** UPDATE: Darcy is now stable and has headed home with her foster carer. We are still awaiting some results and believe she will need a few more tests, but she is already doing so much better. The vets believe that she will require a supplement to support her for the rest of her life. ***

Darcy is a 10 month old Weimaraner who came to us extremely thin and very poorly. From what we can understand, she has been suffering from chronic diarrhoea for most of her life. She lived on a boat, starved and in terrible conditions, and when she was fed it was inappropriate food which did nothing good for her. Due to this neglect she ended up so malnourished that her body started to shut down.

She was rescued by a lovely couple who did everything to help this poor girl. Unfortunately, by this time she was so unwell that her immune system was compromised and struggling even with vet care. When puppies are starved and not give the appropriate nutrition during this important stage of their development, their bodies and organs suffer.

Darcy came to All Dogs Matter and went straight into a foster home where she is being given all the love and care she needs. She was on her way to recovery, and for a while it looked like she was over the worst. She was kindly donated food from Natural Instinct, and was steadily putting on weight and making great progress.

Unfortunately, over the Easter weekend she took a turn for the worse and had to be rushed to the vets. The amazing team at The Arc Veterinary Centre are looking after her and doing everything they can to help this wonderful girl, but at the moment she isn’t responding to anything. Darcy needs more specialised tests and treatments to save her life.

We need your help to make sure we do everything possible to help her. Darcy is a fighter and we will not give up on her – please help us by donating towards Darcy’s vet care.
