Sammy and Sophie’s Story

Meet Sammy and Sophie, two beautiful 15-year-old Staffies who sadly came into our care extremely emaciated and needing urgent medical assistance. They are the most emaciated dogs we have ever seen. Sammy and Sophie’s owner sadly passed away, and the pair were unknowingly in the property for three weeks – fending for their lives alone and scared. The siblings were picked up by the local dog warden service and were rushed to the amazing Goddards Wanstead vet. As you can see from these pictures, they were in a very poor state and sadly Sophie is blind. To  help this lovely pair recover from their ordeal and gain strength we placed them in a lovely foster home to get lots of TLC .

25/11/20 – Update on Sammy and Sophie

Sammy’s health sadly deteriorated rapidly; he wasn’t eating and was very weak. We took him back to the vets, where they removed three blockages in his digestive tract during emergency surgery. Sammy is now doing well, is eating and walking, and has returned to his foster carer to be with Sophie – who was very excited to be with her brother. We’d like to thank everyone who has donated towards the care of Sammy and Sophie, and other dogs in our care.❤️

01/12/20 – Update on our beautiful pair

Great news! Sammy and Sophie are responding really well to their medication, and have begun to gain weight. They are now ready to find their forever retirement home together.
