Safeguarding Policy – All Dogs Matter Charity Reg No 1132883

1. Purpose

This policy sets out how All Dogs Matter will protect beneficiaries, staff, volunteers, and

donors from harm, and ensure that all donations are used safely, ethically, and in line with

our charitable objectives.

2. Scope

Applies to all trustees, staff, volunteers, contractors, and anyone acting on behalf of the

charity.

3. Commitment to Safeguarding

• We have zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation, neglect, or harassment.

• We will act promptly on any safeguarding concerns related to our activities,

including fundraising and donation handling.

• We will ensure that donations are not accepted from sources linked to illegal

activity, exploitation, or reputational risk.

4. Roles and Responsibilities

• Trustees: Ensure safeguarding is embedded in governance and decision-making.

• Safeguarding Lead: Acts as the main contact for concerns, maintains records, and

liaises with statutory agencies.

• All Representatives: Must follow this policy and report concerns immediately.

5. Donation Handling Safeguards

• Verify the identity of major donors and the legitimacy of funds.• Keep accurate, transparent financial records.

• Refuse donations that conflict with our values or could cause harm.

6. Reporting Concerns

• Concerns can be raised confidentially to the Safeguarding Lead at [contact details].

• All reports will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and escalated to the

relevant authorities where necessary.

7. Training and Awareness

• All staff and volunteers will receive safeguarding training, including recognising

financial exploitation and undue influence in donations.

8. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if legislation or Charity Commission

guidance changes.
