An Update on Rosie

We are happy to share that Rosie has now been welcomed into a lovely foster home where she is receiving the right nutrition, veterinary care and emotional reassurance.

She is settling in really well, has come out of her shell and is slowly putting on weight. She will have her legs X-rayed to see if they can be fixed, but she is happy and conmfortable.

Thank you to all of her support. We couldn’t do it without you!

Last year we rescued, rehomed, and reunited 366 dogs.

This year, we aim to help even more. Our kennels are currently full, and we have a waiting list of dogs to come in to us.

Over the past year we noticed demand for smaller ‘cuter’ breeds rising, whilst larger guarding breeds, bull breeds, and working dogs were far harder to rehome. If a single dog stays in a kennel for 6 months, that same kennel could have been used for 20 dogs over the same time period. We continue to help as many dogs as we can. This trend was reflected in the dogs being surrendered to us. More desirable dogs tend to come to us with significant medical or behavioural issues, as owners will sell them online if these issues are not present. This worrying trend has had a huge impact on our funding and our capacity to take in more dogs.

The council pounds are full of dogs like Milo who was abandoned at just over a year old.
