2023 Roundup

During 2023 we have faced many challenges. We have seen record numbers of dogs being abandoned or surrendered to us, with our team receiving hundreds of calls a month from members of the public needing to rehome their dogs. With the introduction of the XL Bully breed ban the situation has only worsened which has resulted in a spike in the number of these dogs being abandoned. Our shelter remains at full capacity in the run up to Christmas, however we continue to take in emergency strays and provide them with a warm kennel and the care they need. Our vet bills have also increased as many of the dogs coming into our care are older or have medical issues and need treatment before they find their forever homes.

Despite these tough times, and with your kind support, we have taken in and rescued and rehomed 429 unwanted and abandoned dogs so far this year. We have also provided around the clock advice to members of the public needing to rehome their dogs.

Thanks to your support – whether it’s fostering, donating to a dog’s care, or volunteering – we have been able to be there for these dogs and can continue to be there for all dogs that need us.
