1. Who we are
All Dogs Matter is a charity registered in England and Wales (charity no. 1132883 whose registered office is at 30 Aylmer Parade N2 0PE.
This policy sets out how All Dogs Matter uses your information to help further our work in protecting dog welfare.
2. What information we collect about you
Depending on your interaction with All Dogs Matter, we’ll collect the following types of information about you:
· Your contact details, such as name, postal address and email address
· Your date of birth
· Your financial information such as bank account details
· Your Gift Aid declaration
· A record of our communications with you
· Your communication preferences
· Your giving history
· Your interests, and reasons for your support
· Information collected as part of our rehoming service, such as details relating to your personal circumstances
· Information about your dog, such as their behaviour, medical conditions and treatments as part of the gifting process
· Photography and videography, such as images at events, case studies and other marketing materials
3. Ways we use your information
In most cases, the legal basis that we rely on to process your personal data will be one of the following, depending on the circumstances in which it has been collected and used.
· where you have provided your consent to allow us to use your data in a certain way, such as receiving news by email
· a legal obligation to use or disclose information, such as retaining records for Gift Aid purposes, or disclosing information relating to incidents involving dangerous dogs for insurance purposes under the Dangerous Dogs Ac
· where it is in our legitimate interests to perform administrative functions such as processing donations or following up an information request, or
· marketing communications by post where our legitimate interest is to raise funds to deliver our charitable purposes
4. Data sharing
All Dogs Matter will not exchange or sell your personal information to another organisation for its own marketing purposes.
However, there are some situations where we may have to share your personal information with other organisations. An example could be sharing your details to reunite you with a lost animal via a Local Authority Dog Warden, or to update microchipping databases. In some cases, we may have to share data about you when requested to do so by statutory agencies, such as the police.
In these situations, the relationship between All Dogs Matter and the third-party data processor will be governed by a contract and strict security requirements will be in place to protect your personal information.
5. Data retention
We’ll retain personal information for different periods of time depending on your relationship with All Dogs Matter.
For example, if you donate to us, we’ll keep your financial information for up to seven years after your last interaction with us. If you rehome an animal, we’ll keep details relating to your rehoming circumstances for 6 years.
In these cases, we’ll only retain data that is necessary for these purposes, and we will delete or anonymise other parts of the record.
6. Changing how you’d like to hear from us
Please help us get things right by telling us when your contact details and other personal information changes. At any time, you can change how we contact you, or ask us to stop contacting you altogether.
