Appeal for Lexy
Little Lexy, formerly Robin, came to us just days before Christmas. He is an 8 month old Bichon Cross who’s owner no longer wanted him, and we quickly realised why. It is rare for us to get puppies in – especially desirable breeds like Bichons.
We found Lexy a brilliant foster home with Athina, and as soon as he came into our care, we took him to one of our local vets. Immediately, they knew something was very wrong. Lexy had a heart murmur so severe that the vet could feel it through his chest. He needed to be refered urgently to a specialist for heart scans and surgery.
Lexy had his surgery yesterday at The Ralph ref It was a risk to put him under anasthetic, but a risk that was worth taking – without surgery he would have died. Lexy pulled through his surgery, and is going back home to Athina today.
Lexy has a long road of recovery ahead of him, and will need a significant ammont of care and dedication from Athina, but barring any complications, he should now live a normal and healthy life. A huge thank you to Athina and The Ralph for taking care of this sweet boy.
Lexy’s Operation and scans have cost us upwards of £3500. Could you donate to Lexy’s lifesaving surgery? Every dog that comes in to us costs us, on average, £1000.
We believe that every dog deserves a chance, can you help us give Lexy a chance, too?
