Welcome to our Christmas update. We hope you are well and wanted to say a huge thank you for your support this year.
Despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic we have taken in and rescued and rehomed over 350 unwanted and abandoned dogs so far. Sadly, we are now experiencing the full impact of the increase in dog ownership across the last 18 months, with our shelter at full capacity with dogs, many with behavioural issues as a result of being undersocialised whilst being bought in lockdown. You can read an interview with Ira Moss, our founder, in The Guardian about this issue here.
Thanks to your support, we have been able to be there for these dogs and can continue to be there for all dogs that need us. Read on for a video message from Ira, and our ‘8 Dogs of Christmas’ highlighting some stories of dogs we have taken in across the year – from an ex-racer Greyhound looking for a home, to a Frenchie rescued from the meat trade in China, to a dog used for breeding and now in her happy forever home.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year, and hope that you all keep safe and well.
